Is there a way to set up a relationship so that if a child asset is down it also causes the parent to show as down?

When you change the status of a child asset, it will ask “Downtime Type” (planned or unplanned). It will ask “Offline Since” where you can choose “Now”, “An Hour Ago”, “Yesterday”, “Last Week”, or you can choose a date. When you hit next, It will give you the option to choose the parent as well as other child assets. If you choose the parent it will take all the child assets offline as well. This will then show the whole hierarchy as offline.

Hope this helps.

Yes, it’s possible to set up a dependency or relationship between assets so that if a child asset goes down, it can trigger the parent asset to show as down as well. You’ll need to configure asset dependencies or use automated workflows to link the statuses. Check your system’s settings or custom rules to ensure this functionality is enabled.
