Is there a way to link a Purchase Order to a work order?
For Work Orders that require one of parts, or contractor labour, it would be good to initiate a PO from the W/O and see a link between the two.

After completed, the work order will be visible in the comments of the PO & the PO will be visible in the comments of the WO
I think what he is really wanting is for the cost of the PO to be automatically shown in the cost of the work order. This would be great for tracking cost of projects that have costs not associated with ‘’stock parts’’ but rather “one off’’ items you purchase.
1. Open MaintainX
1. Launch the MaintainX app on your device and log in if required.
2. Navigate to the Work Orders section.
2. Locate the Relevant Work Order
1. Use the search bar or filters to find the specific work order you need to share.
2. Tap the work order to open its details.
3. Verify Purchase Orders Are Linked to the Work Order
1. Scroll through the work order to find the Purchase Orders section (if applicable).
• If purchase orders were created directly from the work order, they should appear in this section.
• If purchase orders were created separately, locate them by referencing the linked asset or task.
2. Confirm that all required purchase orders are linked or available for sharing.
4. Copy the Work Order Link
1. Tap the Options Menu (usually represented by three dots “⋮” or a similar icon).
2. Select “Copy Link” or “Share Link” to copy the work order URL, which should include references to the integrated purchase orders.
5. If Purchase Orders Were Created Separately (Suboptimal)
1. Navigate to the Purchase Orders section of MaintainX.
2. Locate the specific purchase orders that relate to the work order.
3. Copy each purchase order link by:
• Opening the purchase order.
• Accessing the Options Menu and selecting “Copy Link” or “Share Link.”
4. Paste these links along with the work order link in your message.
6. Paste and Format the Links
1. Open the platform where you’re sharing the information (e.g., email, MaintainX comment, messaging app).
2. Paste the copied links into the message body.
3. Format for Clarity:
• Example:
Work Order: 3Link to Work Order]
Related Purchase Orders:
- Purchase Order 1: rLink to PO1]
- Purchase Order 2: -Link to PO2]
4. Include a brief description for context, such as:
• “Below is the work order for Task Name] along with its associated purchase orders. Please review and confirm.”
7. Confirm Accessibility
1. Verify that all links are functional by testing them (optional but recommended).
2. Check that the purchase orders provide complete details like item descriptions, quantities, and approval statuses.
Best Practices
1. Link Directly: Always aim to create purchase orders directly from the work order for seamless integration.
2. Double-Check Details: Confirm all links and data before sharing.
3. Organize for Clarity: Use bullet points or headings to differentiate the work order link from purchase orders.
4. Provide Context: Always include a brief description of what the links pertain to and any actions required.
Hands-On Training
• Let the trainee practice by creating a test work order with associated purchase orders.
