I’m sure I am missing it, but curious as if there is a report to run that lists assets assigned to users.  For instance a report of user “A” and the lists of assets he is assigned. Then user “B” etc.  Thanks in advance!

You can build a report and sort it by “current user”, if you have assigned each asset to a user. That will allow the report to be filtered by the user. You can then change the user to the next person and so on. This way it will only list the asset assigned to that person and filter out all others.

***Update*** Current user was added internally. You more than likely don’t have this category. It can be added.

Hey @Bill Dake, good news - you're not missing anything! There isn't a built-in report for users’ assigned assets just yet. Our sorting and grouping features are still improving, so this will get easier over time. But here's how you can build it today:

Step 1: Add an ‘Assigned To’ custom field to your assets

The Assets dataset doesn't include a built-in ‘Assigned User’ field, but you can add your own custom field to track this. Here's how:

  1. From the sidebar, go to Settings > Features.
  2. Scroll to the Assets section and select Set Preferences.
  3. Select Customize Asset Fields.
  4. Click + Add Another Custom Field.
  5. Name it Assigned To
  6. Select Create.

Once the field is added, go into each asset and fill in the assigned user. For full details, check out this article: Customize Asset Fields.

Step 2: Build a report for each user

Now that your assets have user data attached, you can build a custom report that shows one user and all the assets assigned to them. Use the ‘Assets’ dataset and add the ‘Asset’ and ‘Assigned To’ columns. You’ll repeat this step for each user you want to track.

Step 3: Save your reports to a dashboard

Save each user's report by adding it to the same custom dashboard. That way, you can see all your users and their assigned assets in one place, updated in real time.

😊 Hope this points you in the right direction, Bill. Happy reporting!
