Same assets with different locations

Yes, you should create a separate record for each asset, even if they're the same type. Each asset has its own location, maintenance history, and work orders associated with it, so keeping them separate keeps that data accurate!

To save time when adding assets in MaintainX, you can duplicate an existing asset instead of starting from scratch:

1. Go to Assets and open the asset you want to copy.
2. Select the more options button (•••).
3. Select Copy to New Asset, then Confirm.
4. Edit the asset’s information (like the location and name), then select Update.
