Hi all,

As a maintenance manager I often want to submit a maintenance request instead of immediately creating a work order so I can review priorities with other team members before scheduling the work order. Is there an easy way to be a requestor as well as an administrator? Is there a way to toggle between modes?

We ran into this need as well. Luckily, there’s a few ways to go about this one. I personally used option #1 because we had enterprise enabled, but the others work just as well. 

  1. Custom permissions can be set up so the same user account can create both work requests and work orders. It’s normally an enterprise feature, so I’d recommend contacting your account manager.
  2. Set up a work request portal and use the web link to submit requests without an account.
  3. Register a second account as requester level using a different email, then keep that second account logged in on a separate browser profile.

Toggling between the two account types is technically possible if you have two admin accounts, but if you’re making a second account, you might as well go with option #3 and not pay for the extra subscription. 😉
