Calling all MaintainX workflow experts! This Show & Tell is dedicated to celebrating the power of our Meters feature.

Have you used Meters to:

  • Automate preventive maintenance tasks based on real-time data?
  • Create custom alerts that proactively notify you of potential issues?
  • Track specific equipment trends to identify root causes and improve efficiency?
  • Develop innovative reporting dashboards that tell a story with your data?

If you've answered yes to any of these questions (or have your own unique Meters story to share!), then step right up and inspire the community!

Tell us what your meter is tracking, how the data is entered (manual entry is ok!), and if applicable, an interesting story on how that feature impacted your team.

Let's learn from each other, spark new ideas, and elevate our maintenance operations to the next level.

We've leveraged quite a few meter’s with awesome results. We have temperature meters in all temperature sensitive area’s. we have amp meter’s on our main power feeds.

I think of meter’s as another team of 24 hour 365 day a year employee’s that don’t cost a whole bunch.

Recently over the holiday’s we had an event that would have been very costly to the company if we didn’t have a temperature meter in the room. Nobody was at the plant and both electric heaters in a diesel fire pump room failed. Temperature began to drop and when it reached the trigger we set a work order was automatically sent out to the Maintenance Team and Management. We responded and got the problem resolved with no damage done to some very important/expensive equipment.

How do you have amp readings or even temperature feeding back to maintainx? This is something of interest for us. Appreciate any feedback!

Through IoT technology. The MaintainX team can help connect you with a vendor.

I have my fleet mechanic take a meter reading every time a piece of equipment comes through the shop. this not only helps me keep up with how often it is in the shop but also how many miles each piece of equipment has on it at any given time. we use Samsara as a tool to help track our equipment but maintain is able to give me the data I need fast,

Hi @Chris Wilcox

how many meters do you have? Is it possible to measure vibration and temperature on motors etc?

Were you able to use these IoT meters with the MaintainX plan, or did you have to upgrade all your seats to Enterprise licenses?

Thanks 😀

Hello there @Shay Yes it is possible to measure vibration and temperature on motors. We have both setup on a particularly important air compressor currently. We currently have 20 IoT meters out in the plant covering temp, surface temp, vibration and pressure.

We already were Enterprise before we started adding IoT…..

Thanks for getting back to me @Chris Wilcox

i don’t suppose you could share the type / brand of the sensors you’re using with MaintainX?

I'm wanting to get some.

The support guys at MaintainX told me I should be able to get some from them, but since I’m in Ireland… they won’t be available to me until later this year, start of 2025. But want to get some possibly sooner.

Thanks again 😀
