Welcome to the MaintainX Community! This is our official introduction thread!

New to the community? Read the guidelines here.

Regardless of when you join this community, drop a brief introduction below.

Share (what you’re comfortable with) your job title, industry, how long you’ve been using MaintainX and a fun fact!

Brief Introduction from me:
I'm Nick Haase, a proud co-founder of MaintainX, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to our new community. Over the last five years, I've had the honor of collaborating with world-class professionals, both within our MaintainX team and among our esteemed clients.

My passion lies in helping organizations to modernize their reliability strategies, a crucial step in adapting to our ever-evolving world. The work done in our industry is foundational, keeping the lights on and the world moving. I firmly believe in the power of collective effort — sharing best practices is essential for the long-term success and stability of the critical systems we rely on.

On a personal note, I'm currently based in Florida with my wife and our dog. In my downtime, I enjoy flying drones and (hopelessly) rooting for the Dallas Cowboys to win the Superbowl.

Looking forward to connecting with each of you and building an exciting and collaborative community here at MaintainX.

Been in the maintenance profession for over 30 years.  Last 10 years, I’ve been with Magna Corp in Bowling Green, KY.  We implemented MaintainX about 3 years ago, in place of some “paper system” and I decided to join this group to see how we could utilize it better.

Thanks, Derek

Hello, My name is Jamie and I am the director of Maintenance for Comfort Care Homes (Homes for Dementia Residents) we have 8 homes at this time. I have over 25 years of experience, but have only been with this company for 1+years. In all my past building I have used “Tels”… After using MaintainX it is 100% better.

Hello!

I’m Gabe Klindt, IT Help Desk, at Morasch Meats in Portland, Or.

MaintainX should help our teams tremendously. The intro training made the basics easy to digest and learn. I’m looking forward to Admin training.

Best,

Gabe

Hello. My name is Don Mathews and I am employed doing corporate building general maintenance in Columbus, Ohio. My team and I were introduced to MaintainX  yesterday and we are in trial of the product for the next month. I have been playing with MaintainX since and have many questions that I will be asking for help with over the upcoming weeks.

As general maintenance, I just do general plumbing, electrical, wall repair, and meeting setups and teardowns. I also pick up trash and plunge toilets. I work hard taking care of the corporate associates and keep them happy. The corporate world. I’ve only been doing this for about 7.5 years, and keep forgetting about as much as I learn, but a I keep plodding on...researching how to do things, asking questions of teammates, occasionally screwing up. Haven’t burned anything down...yet. I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad I am a part of this trial to see how MaintainX can be integrated into our work world and improve how we get things done.

I have one last thing. Lets see who knows what to do. O!H!...

Hello. My name is Matt Broker. I am the safety guy for a steel company in Wisconsin. I am overseeing our maintainx software across both locations. I’ve been using it for less than a year but recently have been tasked with being the main point of contact for all things maintainx. I look forward to learning more about the capabilities of this software.

I’m new to MaintainX but not CMMS as I’ve been a Maximo super user and assisted in a couple different implementations. We are moving to MaintainX from EPAC and I’m going to be assisting. In my current role I’m a TPM coordinator, I’m a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional and am really hoping to provide our maintenance manager a clearer picture of our KPI’s using as much of the functionality of this system. Looking forward to getting a much better understanding of what the MaintainX capabilities are.

John

Good afternoon, my name is Chuck Blair. I am new to Maintain X. I am the Safety & Health Director for a large HVAC contractor. I am also the newly assigned fleet maintenance contact person. We have had no fleet maintenance program. After reviewing our out-of-pocket costs for 2024, it was apparent we needed a maintenance program. Nick was able to address our concerns and presented the Maintain X program in an easy-to-understand format and it was just the ticket we need. I look forward to getting started and your help would be greatly appreciated.

I was actually retired as a plant manager and then director of facility services. That retirement lasted 1½ weeks before my wife told me to go find something to do. I am not one to sit around. My daughter who happens to be the general manager of this HVAC company called me and asked if I would be interested in coming to work for her part time as the safety director as their Safety person retired. Here I am. My daughter who worked for me is now my boss. Got a love it.

Married 51 yrs. 5 children, 4 girls and 1 boy. 10 Grand kids and 1 great granddaughter. I fish and hunt and my wife and I are heavy into gardening. Spend all our extra time with our grandkids as much as possible.

Thats my story and i’s sticking to it. Chuck

Hello, My name is Amell Lemoniel maintenance supervisor. in texas

Hello All, my name is Lane Smith. I own a Clinical equipment service company in Mississippi.  We have been looking for a flexible and reasonably easy to learn maintenance software for the business. I'm still in the trial period, but of all the offerings we've looked over, this one so far seems the most promising.  Our customers are smaller hospitals, clinics, & doctors offices. In addition we service medical & industrial laboratories. All of these require regulatory documentation of performance, safety, & routine maintenance. We are currently doing this with Excel & Adobe Acrobat forms. If you think that record keeping this way is a nightmare you would be correct. I am impressed with the ease I've been able to create procedures. And format data. I hope all the diverse businesses I have seen represented here are having an equally successful time using MaintainX.

Hello Friends, I am Ernie Plemmons and serve Future Foam Inc as Inventory and supply Manager. I have been with MaintainX for 4 years. This is an amazing journey to walk with MX!

My name is James Beers. I am the maintenance manager for Compotech, Inc. in Brewer, ME. I have been in the maintenance field since 1986 and have worked on many deferent systems and equipment.

This is the first time using Maintain X to operate and manage a department. I’ve been using it for about a year and find it easy to use and very helpful. I was hired here 2 years ago as the first maintenance person they ever hired. It has been a challenge to keep the operation moving forward. Maintain X has helped us organize and streamline our system and get our issues under control.

About me. I am an avid and dedicated motorcycle rider and have started a steady gym regimen after being away for 2+ decades. I love the outdoors. I fish, hunt and hike during the warmer weather but do not like the cold. Being in the maintenance field has allowed me to work in some very interesting jobs.  I have worked on everything from paper converting machinery to wind turbines to construction tower cranes. I have 3 awesome grandsons and 3 beautiful daughters.

I want to thank Maintain X for all they have done in designing and implementing their program. It has become an integral part of my system!

Hey James!!! I’m so glad I saw your post - I live in Old Town and work at Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor! :)

We are trying out MaintainX as a potential replacement for Maximo, and I’d love to talk with you sometime to get your feedback on your experience. I’ll reach out to you separately.

In the meantime - hi all! 🙂 I’m the Maintenance Planner at the flagship campus for a non-profit genetics research institution located in Bar Harbor, Maine. We have four sites in the US; I work at the largest of them, with approx. 1600 employees and 26 buildings to maintain. I support our supervisors and technicians at all sites, and do most of the administration for our CMMS (currently Maximo, but we’re switching by the end of this year). We have a team of ~30 technicians here in Bar Harbor, and 5-18 technicians each at our other sites. We maintain process equipment, air handlers, pumps, complex building automation setups and general employee comforts.

Fun fact - I am a blues/rock/soul vocalist, and perform in 3 active working bands in addition to my full-time job at JAX. I’m looking forward to learning from the community! :)

Hi, absolute newbie here and we are in week three of implementation. I lead the Property and Facilities functions for a Public Research Organisation in New Zealand whose focus is climate and environmental, geological, geothermal, natural hazards and advance materials research. Within that I have AM improvement responsibilities across FM and Science assets portfolios. Before this I was responsible for roughly 70 buildings that formed part of a local heath board network across the Wellington region. Within that role there was also responsibility for clinical engineering supporting all the medical equipment assets. Implementation is going well and the support is awesome. Looking forward to being part of the community and building our use of the tools into everyday practice.
