We are a Medical Equipment Service Company. We perform annual medical device inspections for Hospitals and clinics, and I would like to assign a fixed cost for procedures performed on individual sub- workorders. For instance, if we do the basic annual electrical safety and performance, we charge $20 for that completed procedure. Some devices require a more extensive performance procedure, and we may charge between $30.00 & $75.00 for those completed procedures depending on the device. I would like to automate the cost so we don’t have to spend the time adding it and verifying it for what is usually 100 plus pieces. If I add the procedure to the workorder is there any way to assign the cost at that point? I may be missing something but wanted to see what the community could offer.  Thanks

The only thing I have found for this would be to add a screenshot (or other picture) of the price as a link to a field on the procedure.  I don’t know if this would work for what you need or not.

Hi, the way that I would go about this would be adding your services as a part with that cost, then you can attach your “part” to the work order which will sum up the total procedure cost. Another idea would be adding it in as time spent on the work order, I would go in here and let's say inspecting a microscope is 50 dollars. Make your hourly rate 50, then if you inspected 5 microscopes your time cost will be 250.

These methods won't work if your time and parts tracking are important to your reporting. But currently I think that would be the easiest way since there is not a “services” tab in MX like there is for parts. I would recommend that you reach out to support and suggest adding what you need. Let me know if those methods work for you or if i could help any other way.
