Hi All!I’m looking for some input on integrating MX to Power BI that would update in real time. I’m looking to send over new work orders and have those update when the job status is updated.I’m currently running a Zap through Zapier from MX to Outlook Calendar which is shared to other employees, mainly requestors that don't have full user access. I required job title, start and end date, status, category and location. The problem I’m having is if one of those fields are left empty for one reason or another, the zap won’t complete, and it cost me a task. I'm looking to at least test out Power Bi in hopes of a better experience.Any advice would be much appreciated! Also go easy on me lol, I’m an HVAC tech who got in over his head trying to implement this system over the past few months.
I've put QR codes all over the plant. It brings up a request portal . I've mentioned it to operators. They don't understand English too well and I don't understand Spanish. This is more than just a maintenance request portal. It's a comment box . I don't have much participation yet but I will let you know how it turns out. I want the operators to have a voice.

I’d like to know how other teams use the time entry data to catch staff member stop timer errors or other time entry mistakes. Some staff work many different WOs in a day so the sooner we catch time entry errors the better the correction (e.g., at the end of the week details become murky).
We run a maintenance/repair facility up here in the land of the north (Canada). We are not a dealer but run an inspection program of 60-80 combines that we are responsible for different customer every year, we maintain, rebuild and rent out combines out of our facility. We were never able to find the correct software for our business that was able to do it all while keeping it very user friendly on management…. and for the technicians. We need just the basics, parts inventory control, work order management and asset management. Enter MaintainX, within minutes, we were able to turn our 120+ point excel spreadsheet into a usable procedure workflow that my technicians finally enjoyed and was able to be separated with a table of content… simply had to split each of our sections and give it a title in the procedures edit screen, see screenshot 1 below.Another great little feature was the summary of what is needed for “corrective action”. We will be using this for creating invoices to our cu
Hey there, I'm looking for suggestions on a good label maker for QR codes
Hi there,I would like to share a trick how to set up a condition monitoring in MaintainX (temperature, vibration etc).I track equipment vibration using Meters and Procedures. For some equipment which do not have online vibration reading, we perform monthly measurements using portable Fluke vibration meter. So, I have created meters to capture the vibration readings. For example, I named the meters as: ID Fan Motor DE Bearing Vibration and ID Fan Motor NDE Bearing Vibration. Then, I created an inspection procedure in which I linked these meters for technician to capture the readings. For the meters I created Work Order Triggers when a value exceeds a given maximum value for vibration. I believe the same trick can be used to monitor and trigger any other conditions.Hope it can be useful for someone else.
Very helpful to have the app on my phone when I am walking the plant. When I come across a repair or a need, I can make a work order. More importantly I can take pictures and help explain what is needed. A picture is worth a thousand words!

I recently had a conversation with a client that I believe many of you can relate to. He shared his frustration about the lack of recognition his reliability team receives from the operations/production side of their organization. Despite their hard work ensuring everything runs smoothly, they often go unnoticed when things are going well. Yet, the moment there's a hiccup with the equipment, they're the first to be blamed. This conversation got me thinking about the challenges many reliability teams face, not just in terms of their day-to-day responsibilities but also in how they're perceived within their organizations. It's a common scenario where the critical behind-the-scenes work gets overshadowed until a problem arises.I'm curious to hear your thoughts and recommendations on how to work towards changing this culture within an established organization with limited leadership support. How does your organization recognize the efforts of your reliability team? Have you found effective w

I recently came across this old article from The Atlantic which highlighted GE’s efforts to onshore manufacturing back in 2012. It’s interesting to see what challenges and opinions aged well. Reflecting on 'The Insourcing Boom' a decade later offers fascinating insights into the shifts in manufacturing trends. While the resurgence of U.S. manufacturing highlighted has indeed taken root in some sectors, the landscape has evolved with technology and market needs. This article highlights challenges with how these changes still affect our domestic manufacturing strategies and operations today. it's clear that while the reshoring movement offered many advantages, it also presented significant challenges, particularly around process change and the inefficiencies of established processes. Key challenges highlighted include:The need to overhaul outdated manufacturing processes that were not designed for modern, automated production lines. Difficulties in integrating new technologies into exist
