I may not have permissions, but I cannot find where to add an additional category to the existing list. There are no areas to select under the category tab. Within the work order it gives and option when you start typing but just goes away when the “+” is pressed. Thanks in advance!
The WSJ recently published an article about Boeing's huge challenge of training new employees after many of their experienced workers left. This got us thinking about our own experiences with knowledge transfer. Is there a way to add parts to a work order without adding it to parts inventory or am i always supposed to use restock to zero out the inventory?
Hello,Does anyone have experience of creating a MaintainX workorder via an API from a MES (or equivalent system which is used to track the Asset equipment running status)? What is desired is that if an Operator sets an Equipment Asset to Offline (due to a fault condition), that a Corrective Workorder is automatically created in MaintainX (bypassing the Request step). The generated Workorder reference number could also be passed back to the MES as the reference ID for the downtime event.ThanksBrent
Closed-loop water systems are water circulation systems that function in a contained environment where the water remains isolated from the atmosphere and the makeup requirements are minimal- NIH Technical News BulletinIf the top of a water holding tank is covered but not sealed airtight, is the system still considered isolated from atmosphere?
When filling out a PM work order on Manintainx does the time that u put on the the work order have to be in 15 min intervals? Or can it be 1 min intervals?
How often, if ever, do you or your maintenance teams require MaintainX training materials that can be accessed offline? For context, we have training material available in MaintainX Academy and product documentation in our Help Center, but both require access to the internet. In the past, our customers have occasionally asked for training materials as PDFs, so they can share them with their teams offline or in some cases even print them. This type of request doesn’t come up too often, so I’m trying to get a sense of whether maintaining offline training material would serve a real need.To help illustrate, an example of offline training material would be something like a PDF ‘MaintainX Technician Training Manual’ that could be downloaded via a portal accessible to anyone with a MaintainX account.
Does anyone know a way to connect Jira to MX without using Zapier?Process: Once a work order is complete in MX a ticket will be created in Jira and contain that work order to be approved.

In our industry, we routinely shift equipment between our Warehouse and Shipyard locations (various yards depending on workload). I know that I can always go into the Asset Tab, click the Edit button and move the location of the equipment, however it does not track any log of those moves, nor does it log a date that it changed location. In the future, is there any chance there will be asset location logs? I know many of MaintainX customers probably wouldn’t have a need for this as their equipment is stationary, but it would certainly be helpful. If there is a work-around for this, I’m all ears. Thanks!
Hello everyone,I'm exploring the best practices for training Requesters in the MaintainX system and would greatly appreciate your insights and experiences. If you've been involved in training or managing Requesters, I'd like to learn about the challenges you've faced and how you've addressed them.Training Challenges: What are the most common difficulties when training new Requesters? Are there specific aspects of MaintainX that they find difficult to understand or use? User Errors: What are the typical mistakes that Requesters make when using MaintainX? Are there any recurrent errors or misunderstandings that seem to crop up frequently?Understanding these issues will help us improve our training methods. Please share any tips, strategies, or anecdotes about your experiences. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your valuable insights!
I have a nightshift counterpart that works on the same equipment, so most of the PMs can be done by either of us. In practice, we have planning meetings that designate who, specifically, will be doing the work. However, for reporting purposes, this gets messy fast. If both of us stay assigned to all the PMs, reporting will show that we’re both doing double the work. If we unassign one or the other, one of us is likely to lose visibility the next time it pops up. Reassigning each work order every time also gets tedious and takes away from wrench time. How does your organization handle work order assignees that stay flexible? Do you leave both workers assigned and bite the bullet on reporting or do you take the time to deliberately reassign each work order?
We have projects that are longer than 8 hours… Many of them.Say you create a project that is 16 hours. If you use the “Workflow” Screen and drag a project over to someone to assign, it shows up RED and there’s virtually no way to fix it. It just shows up as I HOURS OVER and there’s no way to fix it unless you break the job down into 2, 8 hour jobs.. Pardon me, but this don’t work well for me. What about a project that has a main task, but 8 sub tasks that need to be checked off as they are completed? …running into a huge snag there..
How do folks at your company refer to the maintenance, operations, safety, operations teams? For example, are they referred to specifically as it relates to their job (ie Maintenance - ‘techs’ or ‘technicians’)?Are they referred to as frontline team? Operations team? Shop floor team? Also, I’d also love to hear what you would prefer if you don’t necessarily love the way your organization refers to those groups today.
Good morning, If I remember correctly, I heard that MaintainX can be used for incident reporting. If so, who has done it, how does it work, and what are your suggestions for what to include on the report. I’m interested in this from an accident point of view as well as for security issues (unruly visitor/staff member, vandalism). I’m looking at MaintianX for this for tracking as well as getting notifications when the form is started. I’m a one person department so streamlining is key.
I’d like to condense the To-do View to simply show a singular list of work orders sorted by Due Date. Currently, the list of work orders is broken up into several categories: Assigned to Me Assigned to my teams Created by me All open work ordersEach category is sorted by due date, but I’d like to remove all of those categories and simply have one long list of work orders sorted by due date.Does that functionality exist? And if so, can anyone direct me on how to do so?
Over the last year, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback about our Office Hours and Feature 101 webinar series. Customers have also expressed interest in more virtual live training offerings. To that end, I’m eager to hear from the community about other live trainings you and your teams could find valuable. Some questions to get the conversation started:The Office Hours/Feature 101 sessions are formatted as webinars which are consumed passively - i.e. tune in and listen, with the option to post questions/answer polling questions. Does this style of training work for you? If you’ve attended an Office Hours or Feature 101 webinar, is there anything you’d change about the session structure or subject matter? Would you find value in live training sessions that were more interactive? For example, something more akin to a workshop where you could watch a workflow demonstration, and then get an opportunity to then try that workflow for yourself, before coming back together with your inst
I have some assets that are interchangeable. We will use one until it is due for maintenance or rebuild then switch it out for one of the others. When I am not using the spares I would like to have a way to mark it as offline but usable if it is operational, or offline and being repaired if that is the case. Has anyone been able to do this? It would make my tracking of downtime much easier. Thanks in advance.
