How do folks at your company refer to the maintenance, operations, safety, operations teams? For example, are they referred to specifically as it relates to their job (ie Maintenance - ‘techs’ or ‘technicians’)?Are they referred to as frontline team? Operations team? Shop floor team? Also, I’d also love to hear what you would prefer if you don’t necessarily love the way your organization refers to those groups today.
Good morning, If I remember correctly, I heard that MaintainX can be used for incident reporting. If so, who has done it, how does it work, and what are your suggestions for what to include on the report. I’m interested in this from an accident point of view as well as for security issues (unruly visitor/staff member, vandalism). I’m looking at MaintianX for this for tracking as well as getting notifications when the form is started. I’m a one person department so streamlining is key.
I’d like to condense the To-do View to simply show a singular list of work orders sorted by Due Date. Currently, the list of work orders is broken up into several categories: Assigned to Me Assigned to my teams Created by me All open work ordersEach category is sorted by due date, but I’d like to remove all of those categories and simply have one long list of work orders sorted by due date.Does that functionality exist? And if so, can anyone direct me on how to do so?
Over the last year, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback about our Office Hours and Feature 101 webinar series. Customers have also expressed interest in more virtual live training offerings. To that end, I’m eager to hear from the community about other live trainings you and your teams could find valuable. Some questions to get the conversation started:The Office Hours/Feature 101 sessions are formatted as webinars which are consumed passively - i.e. tune in and listen, with the option to post questions/answer polling questions. Does this style of training work for you? If you’ve attended an Office Hours or Feature 101 webinar, is there anything you’d change about the session structure or subject matter? Would you find value in live training sessions that were more interactive? For example, something more akin to a workshop where you could watch a workflow demonstration, and then get an opportunity to then try that workflow for yourself, before coming back together with your inst
I have some assets that are interchangeable. We will use one until it is due for maintenance or rebuild then switch it out for one of the others. When I am not using the spares I would like to have a way to mark it as offline but usable if it is operational, or offline and being repaired if that is the case. Has anyone been able to do this? It would make my tracking of downtime much easier. Thanks in advance.
Whenever I try to access the page from my phone, work computer, or home computer, I have to log in fresh and the others get logged out. Would be great if we could just be logged into multiple devices. Side note, would be great to have a product feedback/suggestions section and get a feel for how other users use the system or want to improve it.
Are you tracking asset/equipment downtime with MaintainX’s Asset Status feature with your team?If so, have you added any custom labels to that you’ve found helpful to the Asset Statuses yet?I’d love to hear how folks are using Asset Status to track and measure downtime.
Loose idea here…… I’m playing with the idea of getting zapier ( or another app ) to send an email or text to the operator to reply with the Machine hours when MaintainX work order pops up. I have it working so the email gets sent out, But not sure if its even possible to have a way to get the data to populate automatically. Is there a better way? we have machine all over town and we are trying to lessen the amount time it takes to collect the data on a weekly basis. Thanks!
Is there a way to export my completed work orders onto an excel format as apposed to just PDF? thanks in advance!
Great article in the Wall Street Journal today on how American manufacturers are scrambling to manage quality control challenges and hoping digital solutions can help. https://www.wsj.com/business/american-manufacturers-seek-perfection-as-quality-issues-mount-6883d6b8?st=oorkkz5xa1pquc3&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink What best practices or tools does your team use to help manage quality control that have helped reduce or eliminate quality issues??
Hi, I currently have request portals set up within my factory per machine to log faults for my team to act upon, within this I have them attach images/videos along with descriptions of the current fault. From this I am activating a new works order for this fault - however, the request is only put within the description of the works order. Is there a way to actually include the request document within the works order and not just within the description. It would save a bit of headache QMS wise on my side. Thanks in advance
Would it be necessary to add every single smoke detector and horn strobe as individual assets? What about receptacles? It seems to me just having an asset named “Smoke Detectors” and “Receptacles” would work. Especially if we are only replacing one every year or two. This came up because I recently had to add (3) smoke detectors to my system.
For someone just starting out with MaintainX, what’s the best way to effectively set up and manage preventive maintenance schedules?

My employer has set us up for an ISO audit for certification. I am trying to set up reports that would show my completion records for individual machines. Does anyone have a process that would individualize assets by work order and know how to build a report showing common failure and if the work order was on time early or overdue?I really appreciate any ideas.
As a single person department, I look to MaintainX to help me manage my work, the work of contractors and volunteers, as well as making information and reporting as easy and fast as possible. With this platform being the resource available, I also need to work out how to use it to help me with capital projects. I’m curious what one person or very small departments find are effective ways to use MaintainX for projects large and small.

We got a quarry in Boston that got a dump of snow this last week and set us back a whole day in production. What weather management strategies do you have? Or do you just forecast that in your projections?
